The State of The Blog Address, III

Guess what? It's that time of the year again--it's our BlogAway Birthday! 3 years! Yay for us!

Look how excited we are! (Hey, is it just me or are you guys FAKE CLAPPING? Rudeness. I even gave you party hats!)

So this past year, we've grown up a lot. We've talked about deep things like the importance of being a mom and not just another hot bod. We talked about not having to be perfect and we talked about our insecurities.

But, since I can never grow up too much, despite my old age, we still played games and did silly things, like Would You Rather and What's in Your Wallet? I mean Purse

And! We welcomed a new book into the family! I'm feverishly (ish) working on The Hitch: Episode 2 for your reading enjoyment. You should be able to read it soon (ish).

What does the future hold for the next year of BlogAway? Awesomeness, that's what it holds. (I know because I just called a 1-800 psychic line.) Who knows exactly what we'll be discussing and what we'll be doing for fun, but know this: I appreciate the time you waste spend reading my little blog. I know time is more precious than almonds (which are more precious than diamonds, BTW) and it means the world to me that you choose to spend time with me every week or every other week or every other year or two!

Since sometimes I feel like I have nothing much to say, yet you guys are so good to let me just keep on a babbling, I decided today should be ALL ABOUT YOU!

Here's what we're going to do: Each of you needs to leave an ANONYMOUS comment with 10 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT YOU. It can be anything. What's your favorite movie? Song? Where have you lived? Where have you traveled? What kind of grades did you get in college? What is your favorite food?

You get the point: 10 FACTS about anything which have to do with you.

You will not leave your name. (Remember, be anonymous!)  I will then guess which of my readers have left the comment. You may try and stump me, but you must be completely honest in your facts. (I trust you!)

If I have guessed right, please come back and reveal yourself. If I am stumped or guess wrong, others may try to guess your identity as well. If you don't comment often or not at all, maybe one of your facts could include that little fact just so I don't go entirely looney (I'm already 89% there) trying to guess.

OK, ready to tell me all about you? Have at it!

Seriously guys? You have totally stumped me! I thought I would be better at this!

I'm gonna guess that #1 is Mary? Maybe, except that conflicts with your first fact. Maybe your parents hadn't read the Bible???

#2: I think this might be Nicole. But since you didn't mention anything about Captain America, Thor, Sherlock or NCIS, I can't be for sure. You guys are making me look like an imbecile! (Or I did that all on my own, didn't I?)

Your guess on person#2 was soo close. :-) I too have recently become obsessed with Sherlock. I prefer Super Man to Captain America, but seriously who doesn't like Thor!

Anonymous said...

Anonymous #1 says: Guess again! I don't know Mary, so I don't know if you were close or not.

OK, so I'm trying again ...
#1 Devree (although I just can't picture you using clean language because the Devree I know swears like a sailor. (JK. And no offense to sailors who don't swear. Or sail.)

#2 the OTHER Nicole. Yes yes yes, it all makes sense now. The furniture. The Mexican food. The preference for good weathered outdoor entertainment (but you live in MT!). And the Superman hint seals the deal. I got it, right?

#3 My first thought was that you are Lisa, but Lisa's birthday is next week. So you are the next closest thing to Lisa, you are her almost-a-twin, Team C! Do you eat sour candies and chocolate TOGETHER? And I hope you are considering getting a giraffe for your backyard so that you can attach a spy cam to his head and spy on all your neighbors. What fun! I might want to move into a neighborhood for that very reason. So Team C you are. Wise am I.

#2. BINGO! :-)

Lori Folkman said...

The Other Nicole: yay you! Yay me! Dirty Diet Cokes for everyone! And we are so related! Your list could almost be my list, especially the birds part! The don't let me sleep in! :(

Lori, #1 is not me. the fist fact would have been too much of a give away! I've never really won any sort of contest, bats are ok, you weren't supposed to TELL people I swear:j, 5 is pretty accurate and so is 6, 7 is as well however I prefer baby's laughter, I've never been good at sewing (brain cancer made that hard), I'm addicted to the internet (I know, shame upon me), and I was a better blogger but apparently school trumps all else. Try again!

Lori Folkman said...

I have an enormous "L" on my forehead and it's not for LORI.I stink at this game! So ...
Anonymous #1: could this be you Jenna? But your full name is Jennifer, and at the time Jennifer was a really popular, common name, so your parents wouldn't have thought it was unique, would they? Although, MIL said the Hubs' name was unique when he was born and since then there's been 50 billion kids given that name. OK, that helps me decide. #1= Jenna.

Comment #10: this must be the first Nicole. I don't know anyone else who has done landscaping. I'm sorry to hear you went to Vegas for your 21st birthday because now I worry that you eloped with someone who wasn't Steve. Please tell me this didn't happen.

Comment #11: I'm going to guess Devree because you are young and can eat bacon all you like. The rest of us worry about it going to our hips. Same with the whistling. The rest of us are too old to whistle through our dentures. :)
Please tell me I'm right this time!

#10 is me! I went with a roommate to visit another roommate :) We were very well behaved.

Also, I tried to avoid any tale-tell give aways like Sherlock, NCIS, Psych, and my favorite super hero team. It was really hard by the way! Be Proud!

The other Nicole: Superman over Captain America?! What?! Superman is great and all but…. The only person better than Captain America is Ironman and I'm starting to even wonder about that. I think they're becoming tied.

Nicole Jessop said...

Also, could I have eloped with someone who was Steve but wasn't my Steve?

Lori Folkman said...

Nicole: phew! I feel so much better about myself now! You were pretty sneaky though. I agree: Captain America > Superman. Sorry Other Nicole. And do you have a history of Steves? I supposed it would be OK as long as he looked just like your Steve and was as charming and funny too ... but I don't think that's even possible. :)

Anonymous said...

I was your anonymous poster #3 (my #1 says that I like the color pink) and you haven't guessed me yet. Don't forget me--who am I?

Lori Folkman said...

Anonymous #3: Dang, I was so sure it was Team C. So ... I'm thinking which people I know who want to be a crazy author (hey you did say like Lori, therefore that means CRAZY) when YOU GROW UP. OH! I got it! Didi! It's you, beautiful, wise, talented Didi, isn't it?

Nicole Jessop said...

I don't have a history of Steve's and none could compare in any way to mine :) So I guess I just went to Vegas to hang out with some roommates

Jennifer Lovell said...

Good job -- I was anonymous #1, and Didi was #3 :). Glad we were able to stump you at least a little bit :)!

I worked hard at that. At first I said way too much in my clues until I remembered that I'm usually the wordy one on here, so I tried to make my clues more brief so I could blend in more with the others.

Didi was aprehensive about the "when I grow up" phrase, but I told her a funny adult would say that too. I guess she was right to think that would give her away, ha ha!

You were right, too, about the theory of choosing my name: my parents thought it was unique because I was born in the south, and no one there had my name. When they moved out west, they discovered it was pretty much one of the most popular names of the time. Oops ;).

Again, good job. That was fun!

Little Miss Devree said...

I AM #11! If it wasn't for the bacon would you have guessed? No Lori you are doing good. Don't lose faith. You can do it!

Lori Folkman said...

Jenna: you changed your entire writing style, you trickster you! It didn't sound at all like you and I was fooled! (But that doesn't make me a fool, does it?) And so nice to have Didi back for a visit. I did think it was an adult at first because I say things like "when I grow up." I won't consider myself a grown up until I'm 80. :)

Devree: wahoo! The Canada hint also gave it away: it seems like I remember you saying that once. But, Canada is the only country you ever need to see since you like bacon and they have their very own kind of bacon. BTW, would bacon make even ice cream better?

Hey Ms. Anonymous: I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this is LivingstonslifeinMT. If I'm wrong on this then the sky is green and the grass is blue. I've never known anyone else who likes the smell of puppy breath. And #4 explains why you had your dog attempt to kill my chicken. Am I right?
