What do you do in the summertime?

Ah. Summer. Doesn't it feel good? Fresh fruit and veggies. Kids playing outside. Going to the lake. (Which, BTW, is still too darn cold to enjoy. Am I really going to have to take the kids to the pool this year? Groan.) Cooking and eating outside. Hiking through the forests. Feeling the sun on my back. (I especially appreciate this one, since the sun has been MIA since last summer.)

Since I worked you so hard last week, I'm making this one a no-brainer. What do you love about summertime? Leave me a comment and you could win something very summery. Like this:

I kid. Because when you see a bikini on my blog, it might lead you to think of this:

So I won't be giving away a bikini. It will be something awesome-er. So play along, pretty please!

The things I love about summer are: sun tan lines!, spending weekends in the mountains just enjoying being away from civilization, fishing, four wheeling trips, fresh fruit and veggies, driving with the windows down, all of the bbqs, being able to kick people out of the house because the weather is nice enough to say "go outside", summer vacation!, campfires... this could go on forever! I just love summer and it's my very favorite season!

Freckles! I love how we all sprout them and I get to kiss all my kids cheeks as much as I want, and they don't mind because we hardly see anyone we know... we are always on the go on the weekends, and I love love love all our memories are spent in God's trees and mountains. The campfire snuggles aren't too bad either.

Our family loves to have company! We love to pick cherries and huckleberries. We also enjoy going to Whitefish Beach and Glacier Park. I personally love to read outside while the children are playing happily around me! I also want to catch a fish this year!!!!! (my first)

I love it when it gets over 80 degrees, because then I can jump in the lake and go for a swim.

I also like to pick berries and roast dinner over a campfire.

Going for a walk with a lot of lovely ladies is pretty nice too. ;)

I love freshly cut grass and the evening before the misquetos attack listening to the birds and the crickets all humming along. Oh and rainbows. Lots and lots of rainbows:)
And bacon cooked hanging off a stick over a campfire at the crack if dawn just as the birds start chirping somewhere down the Swan!

What do I love about the summer, my guys working full time again in the woods, so a good paycheck every week for one thing! Another, the smell of all the beautiful flowers blooming all around, I've picked lilacs off my bush, now they are all gone, now I'm picking big beautiful peonies, oh how I forget how they smell so nice in my house! I love having my grandkids come stay with me and watch the little ones play in the little pool in the back yard. They are so fun to watch. Maybe the big yellow butterfly will come back this year and land on one of the girls again. One of my favorite pictures I got last year! My 2 yr old granddaughter said it tickled. Oh, summer how nice it is you are here. OH & best of all, turning off the gas furnace and not having the heating bill for a couple months!

Camping, smores, just being outside without boogers freezing to your face. And the smells....grass, flowers, rain, sleeping with the windows open...the list goes on

I love summer rain, the sound of sprinklers early in the morning, tomato sandwiches, and no homework or school projects! Summer is the best!

I love crisp mornings hikes or bike rides in the angled shadows of the quiet sunrise. I love lazy days at the sandy beach. I love surprise rainstorms with kids dancing to the music of their giggles. I love my ultimate tri-sport date night; biking up strenous North Canyon, locking the bikes and hiking to the top of Snow Valley Peak, flying down the mountain, and then finishing it off on a two seater kayak on Lake Tahoe to watch the sunset. Perfect!
