I smell a smelly smell

Since I made you stop and ponder last week and since we all need to use our time wisely so we can accomplish DoSoYoLoDoMo, this is going to be the easiest post ever.

What smells do you love?

I love:

1. Anything pumpkin related (pumpkin bread, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin bars, you get the idea)

2. Anything lemony (except for Snicket)

3. Cinnamon, especially when baked with apples (sounds kind of like apple pie, doesn't it?)

Also of note, I love the smell of burning weeds. That one might be slightly strange? Do you guys like any strange smells? My hubby loves the smell of lumber mills (yes, he's very popular with the tree huggers.)

So ready set go ... tell me what smell you like to smell!

I love the smell of anything yummy cooking. If I tried to make a list it'd go on forever so I'll just leave it at that. I love the smell of paint, gasoline and permanent markers, I don't know why. Acqua Di Gio is my very favorite guy smell and Steve wears it :) I love the smell of baby things, like powder and shampoo and clean babies.

On the opposite note, I HATE the smell of popcorn. Despise it. And because of it, I don't like to eat it.

Sunscreen. And baby lotion. Top favorite smells, hands-down. I also love the smell of tomatoes and peaches. Really fresh fruit in general. I really got to enjoy those when I was pregnant last summer. Yum!

Top 5 smells-in no particular order: Sawdust (because it reminds me of Ryan), baby breath (not the flower - the actual breath of my babies), pina colada, matches and crisp fall air.

I love pumpkin cookie smell, cinnamon spice, homemade bread cooking, cinnamon rolls cooking, and so many others. It is great to be in Fall so we can cook to our hearts content with out getting to hot in the kitchen. ;)

Have I ever mentioned that I have a bionic nose? Here are some of my favorite smells: citrus, cinnamon, homemade whole wheat bread, hot buttered popcorn (sorry, Jessops, guess we can't be friends). I love the smell of a campfire while I'm sitting around it, but hate it when I get home. Cigarette smoke, perfume, cologne, scented candles, air fresheners, some shampoos and deoderants, hairspray--hate them all. And they give me migraines. Double hate!

This is a fun topic. I love my lovey smells. My #1 favorite I think is a new baby freshly washed with Johnson's Baby Shampoo. That is a smell I just love to cuddle. I also love the smell of my husband's cheek when he has shaved : ). I love the smell of campfires, and the way that smell comes home with you in your dirty laundry. I also love the smell of rain! Or perhaps the air after it rains, hmmm... As for food smells, yes, I love pumpkin-spiced stuff too. Oh and I also love the smell of roses because it makes me think of a grandma's lotion.

Just one funny story: I'll never forget what one of my dates told me once when I was in college (it was a blind date, I can't remember his name). We smelled a skunk driving down the freeway, and he said that his dad always would teasingly inhale and say "AHHH!", so he grew up thinking skunks were a "good" smell, and he knows better now, but still feels that way anyway. Isn't that funny? So now when I smell skunks, I don't like it, but at least I have a funny story to think of.

Fresh cut grass, matches, spices, lemon, grapefruit, licorice, new babies and fresh baked bread. Oh and the smell of rain!

I love smells...well...I love good smells!

Jessops: You hate the smell of popcorn??? You poor thing! Do you wear a gas mask when you go to the theater?

Rowley's:Fresh fruits and veggies are the best. How come no one makes a tomato lotion or shower gel?

Missy: I'll send you a box of sawdust. But don't get the matches out around the sawdust, okay?

LStevens: Fall is the best smelling season, isn't it?

Sally: maybe you could become a drug-sniffing super agent. You could put all the service dogs out of work and they could retire to a farm in the country.

JazznJenna: oh the smell of clean babies. But then they grow into stinky teenagers. And messing with your kids like your date's dad? That is hilarious. That's the kind of parent that tells their kids they ate all their Halloween candy.

I missed your comment WG. We were posting at the same time. You say you like the smell of rain? That's because it only rains in UT twice a year. :)

Actually, theaters are why I hate the smell of popcorn. It's hard to like something when you go home smelling like it every day. And it's hard to get out of your clothes and hair! It somehow manages to stick around even after washing. ick

I love the smell of new shoes. I guess I love everything about new shoes. I also love the smell of a clean house, a new car (especially with leather interior), ham cooking, pine trees, and lilacs. I'm not fond of how rivers and oceans smell, seafood, or elementary schools (sometimes even the kids in them).

I Love the smell of bread baking, or cake baking or cookies baking..you get the idea. I too love the smell of burning grass.... and thawing manure and skunks in the spring. It gets cold out here and when you can actually smell these things it means it's warming up!

I'm with you on the fall smells; cinnamon, pumpkin, apples I also love the smell of coffee brewing and breakfast cooking. Too bad I have to go to a breakfast restaraunt to enjoy that one. I burned some rice the other day and I wished so bad for a coffee maker just to cover up the smell, it was awful!
